| I came in to Sizzling Express around 10:50a.m. to order an egg and cheese sandwich. A woman behind the counter told me that breakfast had ended at 10:30a.m., but she asked me what I wanted anyway. I believe (from the picture I've seen on the wall) that this woman is the proprietor. She asked me what I wanted and I told her. She never put on any gloves, and I noticed her lifting a trash can out of the way, grabbing it by the rim and setting it aside. Afterwards, she went back to preparing my sandwich.
Would I have been wrong if I had cancelled my order after seeing how my food was prepared? In her eyes I probably would have. If you stop serving breakfast at 10:30a.m. you should not take any more orders. Enough said! Even better, there should be a sign displayed to notify customers of your policy. Instead, she acted as if I were a nuisance, while she prepared my food in an unsanitary manner. In her eyes, I didn't matter.
I paid for my sandwich, reluctantly, and threw it away when I arrived back at work. What a waste of time.
I have myself to blame for not speaking up when I had the opportunity.
