| City Tavern used to be the hot spot of Kankakee. Since then it was sold, but I think they got the bar back. Lets just say, it's nothing like it used to be. |

| The history of City Tavern is as beautiful as the bar itself. The building was built in 1865 and has a colorful past. It was one of the largest, most upscale burlesques in Illinois. Men would take the train from Chicago to visit "Darling Nell and the girls" At its best, it was a rich source of music and comedy, amongst other things. We have worked hard to preserve the original woodwork, original look, and a bit of sex appeal. Nell would have wanted it that way!
In addition to the scenery, we carry over 70 different types of beer and wine from all over the world. And on the weekends, we turn the place into one of the hottest clubs south of Chicago. If you've never been to "City", we invite you to experience it. |

| Fat Tuesday during MaRdIs GrAs is fantastic at City Tavern. There are plenty of beads and plenty of fine ladies walking around so you know what happens when the two are combined. I can't wait to see what happens on St. Patties day weekend! |
