A Mud, Blood, and Grass is a shot which tastes similar to an afterdinner mint. The shot originated in the Engineer Corps of the Australian Army which kind of explains its name. This shot should be layered with the kahlua or baileys (mud) on the bottom of the shot glass, the cherry advokaat (blood) in the middle and the green creme de menthe (grass) floating on top. The layering is obviously the trickiest part in the consturction of this drink. A good way to do this is usually pouring slowly over the back of a spoon to let the liqueur slide gently down onto the surface of the other liqueur.
