The bitters did accentuate the two Italian liqueurs in this drink, so if you don't prefer this drink with the bitters it's understandable. Without it the whaler's would be the main taste and it would have complimented the galliano. The rum does cover up the whiskey but it doesn't eliminate it altogether.
