Adding the ancient age to this already sweet tasting recipe definitely took away most of the sweet taste. It could have been that the bartender added the whiskey halfway through the recipe just before the simple syrup but it did taste relatively good to me. Perhaps you could say the reason it did was because of the 2 drinks I had before this one.
