Absinthe (can use Ricard or Pernod) |

Fill your old fashioned glass w/ ice to chill. In your mixing glass combine Simple syrup, Rye Whiskey or Cognac, bitters and a few ice cubes. Stir do not shake! Empty the ice out of the old fashioned glass and pour in the ABSINTHE. Swirl to coat the glass and pour out the excess. Strain your ingredients into the ABSINTHE coated glass. Twist a fresh lemon twist over the drink, rub the rim of the glass with the bruised twist and put in the drink.
