Drinking Game: Double or Nothing Add to My Games
A full deck is dealt evenly between two players. The players' piles are face down (no peek!). Each player turns their top card. The difference between these cards is the "base drink."

Example 1: Player 1 turns a 2. Player 2 turns a 5. The "base drink" is 3.

Example 2: Player 1 turns an ace. Player 2 turns a 7. The "base drink" is 7.

The highest "base drink" is 12: the difference between 2 and ace.

At this point, the "loser" (the player with the lowest card) may choose to drink the "base drink." However, the losing player may also choose to go "double or nothing." After a player announces his intention to go "double or nothing," both players flip the next card in their piles: this is called a "save throw." If the "loser" receives a winning card on the "save throw," the "base drink" is transferred to the other player. If, however, the "loser" turns a losing card on the "save throw," he/she must drink double the "base drink." The loser clears the cards when he/she is finished drinking, and another pair of cards is turned. The game continues in this fashion until all cards in the deck have been turned.

Additional Rules:

1) Spades always trump on a "save throw."

Example 3: On the save throw, Player 1 turns a 5 of hearts. Player 2 turns a 2 of spades. Player 2 has won the save throw, even though his card has a lower numerical value.

Of course, if both players turn spades on the save throw, the higher spade wins.

2) Cards of the same numerical value result in a "social drink." If this occurs on a "save throw," the "base drink" cancelled in favor of the "social drink."

Example 4: Player 1 turns a jack of hearts. Player 2 turns a jack of spades. Both players take a hearty gulp from their beers.

This game may result in extreme intoxication. Therefore, it is important that each player have the rules explained to them carefully before agreeing to play. It is important to remember that the most any player will be forced to drink in one "hand" is 12. However, challenging this result may result in a drink of 24: a full beer! Play with caution.
