Drinking Game: Fiddlin' Add to My Games
This is taken from the Guess Who song of the same title, but with a few changes to the original lyrics.

The original song goes:

F-I-D-D-L-I-N spells fiddlin'
D-R-I-N-K-I-N spells drinkin'
I'll tell you something you might not know,
You can't go fiddlin' without your bow.
F-I-D-D-L-I-N spells fiddlin'

G-A-M-B-L-I-N spells gamblin'
D-R-I-N-K-I-N spells drinkin'
I'll tell you something you might not know,
You can't go fiddlin' without your bow.
F-I-D-D-L-I-N spells fiddlin'

We changed it to a sit-around, quick-witted, verbal rhyming game.

It starts with everyone sitting in a circle, and somebody sings the first verse. Everyone sings along to the "D-R-I-N-K-I-N spells drinkin'" part.

Play moves clockwise to the next person, who must quickly think of another word to spell aloud. Some examples would be the original second verse of GAMBLIN. Others used were BLASTIN, DANCIN, WADDLIN, etc. Be creative, just make sure it ends in "in" (normally ending in 'ing').

Now, as everyone is singing along with "D-R-I-N-K-I-N spells drinkin'" you have to think of a short rhyme about the word you spelled. They should all follow kind of the same formula, believe it or not this makes it easier.

Examples would be:

BLASTIN'
I'll tell ya something about your mom, you can't go blastin' without a bomb.

GAMBLIN
I'll tell ya something that's not too nice, you can't go gamblin' without your dice.

DANCIN
I'll tell ya something I heard down the rows, you can't go dancin' without your toes.

WADDLIN
I'll tell ya something you might not like, you can't go waddlin' if your name is Mike.

The point is that it rhymes and makes some sort of sense. Obviously, you can get silly such as the last example shows... but don't go overboard.

Lastly, when you are finished performing your solo rhyme everybody sings along spelling your original word...then play continues clockwise to the next person.

Somebody has to drink if:

- They take too long to think of a word/rhyme
- Their word isn't a word, or their rhyme doesn't make sense
- They are not in the 'hot seat' they say "D-R-I-N-K-I-N spells drinkin'" at the end when they should be spelling the word the other player said originally

You can add other drinking rules such as the classic "no elbows on the table". And, of course, tailor the rules to your group of friends so that EVERYONE HAS FUN playing it.

Just in case I'm really bad at explaining it...here's an example of a round after the original FIDDLIN' verse. The parts marked within ** are sung by all.

W-A-D-D-L-I-N spells waddlin'
*D-R-I-N-K-I-N spells drinkin!*
I'll tell ya something you might not like, you can't go waddlin' if your name is Mike!
*W-A-D-D-L-I-N spells waddlin'*
