| The game is called Satan's 48 because there are only four safe cards (52-4=48).
Ace through five, you drink. Ace is 1 drink, 2 is 2 drinks, etc, until 5 which is 5 drinks.
At six it starts over. 6 is 1 drink, 7 is 2 drinks, etc, 10 is 5 drinks.
Jack and Queen are one drink each, and if you pull a King you don't have to drink.
Basically, you're drinking the whole game through.
You just play until you run out of cards. Two or more players.
